With the 14th pick in the 2014 MLB draft, the Giants selected right handed pitcher Tyler Beede from Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-4 junior right-hander from Auburn, MA owns a 23-13 record over three years at Vanderbilt. This season, Beede owns a 3.20 ERA in 98.1 innings pitched with 106 strike outs and 43 walks.
In 2013, he earned All-American honors with a 14-1 record and 2.32 ERA.
Beede was originally drafted out of high school with the 21st overall pick back in 2011 by Toronto, but elected to to to college instead.
Giants fans can watch Beede and the Commodores take on Stanford this weekend in NCAA super regionals.
