A week after being designated for assignment, center fielder Daniel Carbonell has cleared waivers and will report to the Sacramento River Cats.
Along with injured second baseman Joe Panik, the young Cuban was moved off San Francisco's 40-man roster on Sept. 16 to make room for right fielder Mac Williamson and catcher Trevor Brown.

Carbonell struggled with the Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA) this season, posting a .146/.173/.194 line after a midseason promotion from the High-A San Jose Giants.
The 24-year-old signed a four-year, $1.4 million contract with the Giants in June 2014.
