After winning the 2014 National League pennant, Giants manager Bruce Bochy gets to coach the NL All-Stars and fight for home field advantage in the 2015 World Series.
Bochy has selected Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price to accompany him on the game's coaching staff.
The NL West rival Dodgers are currently leading the Giants in the division standings by 4.5 games with a 24-13 record. Price's Reds are in third place of the NL Central with an 18-20 record, but it is no surprise that Bochy chose Price to his staff with the Reds hosting the MLB All-Star Game on July 14. The Giants beat the Reds three out of four games on May 14-17.
As a player with the New York Yankees, Mattingly made six straight All-Star Games from 1984-1989. He also coached in the 2004 All-Star Game for the American League as a part of Joe Torre's New York Yankees staff.
This is Price's first appearance in his second year as the Reds' manager.
Bochy is managing his fourth All-Star Game and third as the Giants' manager. He did so with the Giants in 2011 and 2013, and also as the Padres' manager in 1999.
