One hundred and fifty six MLB players filed for salary arbitration on Tuesday, including Giants first baseman Brandon Belt and reliever George Kontos.
Belt, 27, hit .280 with 18 home runs and 68 RBI over 137 games last season on a one-year, $3.6 million contract.
His projected arbitration salary for 2016 is $6.2 million, according to mlbtraderumors.com.
Kontos, 30, went 4-4 with a 2.33 ERA in 73 appearances with the Giants last year on a one-year, $517,500 contract.
His projected arbitration salary for 2016 is $1 million, according to mlbtraderumors.com.
The two sides will exchange figures as they try to arrive on an appropriate salary for the upcoming season. If they are unable to agree, the dispute will be decided by an independent arbitrator.
