Jon Lester is considered the top starting pitcher on the market this offseason, and the baseball world is waiting for his decision.
The free agent has whittled his options to the final two and -- "barring late change" -- will choose between the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants, according to a FOX Sports report.
Shortly after, though, Lester's agent Seth Levinson denied the report in a radio interview.
"Absolutely untrue," Levinson said. "The rest are still in."
The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers were the other two teams reported to be in strong pursuit of Lester's services.
The Giants met with Levinson Sunday night as part of a late recruiting push, and MVP Buster Posey was a part of the pitch, according to an ESPN report.
Lester, 30, went 16-11 with a 2.46 ERA over 32 starts between the Red Sox and A's last season.
