Yusmeiro Petit on Thursday retired his 46th consecutive batter to surpass Mark Buehrle for the MLB record.

The streak, which began in Philadelphia on July 22, spanned seven outings and came to an end when opposing pitcher Jordan Lyles hit a double two pitches after Petit set the record.
Of the 46 outs, 21 came by way of the strikeout, 13 were flyouts, eight were groundouts and four were lineouts.
