The PGA Tour returns to California this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, and it will feature some familiar faces. San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain will play together as the two amateur golfers in their foursome. The two are familiar with each other's golf game, having competed in the event in years past.
Harbaugh will be paired with Jason Day, while Cain draws Matt Bettencourt's partnership. The foursome tees off Thursday at Monterey Peninsula at 8:22 a.m., Friday at Spyglass Hill off hole 10 at 10:01 a.m. and Saturday at Pebble Beach at 9:06 a.m.
From Ryan Lavner at The Golf Channel:
It’ll be interesting to see Harbaugh’s emotional stability after a wild loss Sunday in the Super Bowl (and to his brother, no less). Belichick played here last year, just a few days after a stunning loss in the Big Game, so it seems Pebble Beach is a popular landing spot for the brokenhearted. Cain, meanwhile, should have plenty of support from the local fans. The San Francisco pitcher threw a perfect game last year and led the Giants to another World Series title.
