Defensive tackle Anthony Adams, a second-round draft pick of the 49ers in 2003, announced his retirement Saturday after nine NFL seasons.

Following his four seasons with the 49ers, Adams signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent in 2007. He played his final five seasons with the Bears. Adams was a very good player. He is also known for his humor and easy-going nature off the field.

The Bears released Adams in March 2012. To remain busy, he produced several self-deprecating YouTube videos that satirized his situation.

On Saturday, he released a video that gives a behind-the-scenes look at his quest to begin his next career. His much-anticipated announcement was sure to draw plenty of fanfare. Right? Well, maybe not. . .

Watch and enjoy.
