SANTA CLARA -- Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, one of the 49ers' defensive standouts in their NFC Championship Game victory, did not practice Thursday due to a sore left shoulder.
Brooks sustained an unspecified shoulder injury in the first quarter of the 49ers' 28-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He exited the game for three snaps on the second drive of the game but returned to action for the remainder of the game. Veteran Clark Haggans replaced Brooks when he was out of action.
Brooks ended up producing some of the big plays for the 49ers' defense, including two passes batted down at the line of scrimmage in the second half and one big hit on quarterback Matt Ryan that separated is non-throwing shoulder.
Brooks, who also did not practice Wednesday, is expected to be near full strength to face the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3.
