The Sharks recalled 31-year-old forward Bracken Kearns from their American Hockey League affiliate in Worcester on Monday, and placed forward Tommy Wingels on injured reserve.

The 6-0, 205-pound Kearns is Worcester’s second leading scorer, with 30 points (13g, 17a) and 63 penalty minutes in 50 games. He attended Sharks training camp in January before he was reassigned. In five career NHL games with the Florida Panthers early in the 2011-12 season, Kearns was scoreless with 10 penalty minutes.

Forward Marty Havlat, who suffered a lower body injury and left the Sharks’ 2-1 win over Nashville in the second period on Saturday, is not expected to go on the team’s upcoming two-game road trip.

Wingels hasn’t played since Feb. 23 in Dallas, when he went into the boards face-first in the third period. In 16 games, Wingels has a goal and four assists for five points and nine penalty minutes.

The Sharks have nine of their next 11 games on the road, and visit Vancouver on Tuesday and Calgary on Wednesday.
