Instant analysis:

The A's are keeping Jed Lowrie in the cleanup spot. He has been hitting no matter where A's manager Bob Melvin pencils him in. Lowrie has an MLB-leading five games with three or more hits. He has 30 hits and is three hits shy of breaking the A's record for hits in April set by Stan Javier in 1994 and Ben Grieve in 1998. Lowrie is no stranger to hot starts. He has a .353 career batting average in April.

One to watch:

Brandon Moss is 3 for 4 in his career against Orioles' starting pitcher Jason Hammel. Moss leads the A's with 16 RBI this season. He is hitting .444 with runners in scoring position.

Worth Noting:

Chris Young hit two home runs on Wednesday. He has gotten off to a slow start, but is actually tied with Lowrie for second on the team with 14 RBI.
