Kings sign former ASU, Marquette guard Lockett

The Sacramento Kings signed guard Trent Lockett to a contract, Kings General Manager Pete D’Alessandro announced Wednesday evening.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Lockett, a 6-5, 210-pound guard, averaged 7.0 points (.464 FG%, .375 3pt%, .545 FT%), 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 20.2 minutes per game in five games for the Kings in the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

As a senior at Marquette, Lockett averaged 7.0 points (.415 FG%, .333 3pt%, .752 FT%), 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 26.6 minutes per game in 2012-13.

Prior to transferring to Marquette, Lockett played three seasons at Arizona State. As a freshman, he was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team in 2009-10. In his sophomore campaign, Lockett earned Second Team All-Pac-10 accolades and First Team Pac-10 All-Academic honors in 2010-11.
