A's catcher Stephen Vogt remains in second place among American League catchers for All-Star fan voting, in the latest results released Tuesday.
Vogt had 1,401,747 votes at the latest count. He's got significant ground to make up to catch Kansas City's Salvador Perez, the leading overall AL vote-getter at 2,681,063.
Vogt, who now trails Perez by 1,279,316 votes, was in second by 651,905 votes in the first update.
The Royals currently have five players in line to start the July 14 showcase based on fan voting -- Perez, third baseman Mike Moustakas, shortstop Alcides Escobar and outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Alex Gordon.
Oakland shortstop Marcus Semien remains third in the AL at his position with 630,167 votes.
