A’s third baseman Danny Valencia left Monday’s game against Boston after re-injuring his left hamstring running out a base hit.
Valencia pulled up lame as he reached first base while legging out a single up the middle in the top of the second. He stayed in to come around and score on Josh Phegley’s grounder, but left the game as Chris Coghlan replaced him defensively to start the bottom of the second. The A's announced Valencia's injury as left hamstring tightness.
The A’s were leading the Red Sox 4-1 in the third.
