Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, marking just the second time since 1936 that three first-ballot players were elected.
In the Hall of Fame's history, there have been 48 first-ballot Hall of Famers, including the class of 2014.

Some impressive names were excluded from the first-ballot fraternity, such as Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmie Foxx, Mel Ott, Roy Campanella and many others.
