The month of May could not have gone much better for Oakland A's left-handed starting pitcher Rich Hill.
After posting a 5-1 record with a 2.13 ERA and 37 strikeouts over 38 innings pitched, Hill is Major League Baseball’s American League Pitcher of the Month.
Hill joins another left-hander, Los Angeles Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw, as May awardees for MLB.
Hill is in his 11th major league season. The 36-year-old is 8-3 this season with a 2.25 ERA and 74 strikeouts.
