Early reports indicate the Mariners' only involvement is receiving outfielder Austin Jackson and sending second baseman Nick Franklin to the Rays.
The Rays also reportedly receive left-handed pitcher Drew Smyly.
Price, 28, was 11-8 with a 3.11 ERA in 23 starts for the Rays.
Jackson, 27, was batting .270 with four home runs in 99 games for the Tigers.
Smyly, 25, was 6-9 with a 3.77 ERA in 20 games -- 17 starts -- for the Tigers.
Franklin, 23, was batting .128 in 17 games for the Mariners.
More to come.
