The Mets have agreed to terms with former A's outfielder Chris Young, according to a CBS Sports report.
The deal is worth a reported $7.25 million and is pending a physical next week.
Young became a free agent when the A's spent $1.5 million to buy out his $11 million club option for 2014.
The 30-year-old All-Star was the highest paid player on the A's last season at $8.7 million. In 107 games, he hit just .200, but swiped 10 bags and connected on 12 home runs, nearly adding a few more.
Young, an eight-year MLB veteran, is a center fielder, but can play all three outfield positions. The Mets are thin in the outfield, with high hopes for sophomore center fielder Juan Lagares. Last season, he was flanked by Eric Young in left and Andrew Brown in right.
