Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra passed away Tuesday evening at the age of 90.
The news of Berra's death was announced by his museum. The New York Yankees and MLB also confirmed the news.
Berra's death comes on the 69th anniversary of his major league debut, Sept. 22, 1946.
Berra played 19 major league seasons, 18 with the Yankees and one with the Mets.
He won three American League MVP awards (1951, 1954 and 1955) and won 10 World Series as a player.
