Major League Baseball announced its postseason shares for the 2013 playoffs, and A's players are taking home $37,316.25 apiece.
The 2013 players’ pool was $62,683,966.80, with nearly $38K going to the World Series-contending Red Sox and Cardinals.
The A's -- along with Division Series runners-up Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay -- received $2,037,228.92 as their share of the players' pool. Oakland awarded 48 full shares, a total of 6.143 partial shares and 20 cash awards.
The players’ pool was formed from 50 percent of the gate receipts from the wild card games; 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first three games of the Division Series; 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games of the League Championship Series; and 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first four games of the World Series.
The players’ pool was divided among the 10 postseason clubs: the two World Series participants, the two League Championship Series runners-up, the four Division Series runners-up and the two runners-up in the Wild Card Games presented by Budweiser.
