The A's placed lefty Drew Pomeranz on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday morning with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder and right-hander Arnold Leon was recalled from Triple-A Nashville.
Leon, 26, pitched one inning of relief and gave up one run April 22 against the Angels in his major league debut.
He was optioned back to the minors the next day. Leon was 0-2 with a 4.26 ERA in five starts for the Sounds. He would appear a candidate to take Pomeranz's next start Saturday at Tampa Bay, though Leon would be on seven days' rest by that point.
