Ken Korach was named California Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association on Thursday, besting finalists John Ireland (Los Angeles Lakers radio) and Vin Scully (Los Angeles Dodgers radio).
Korach completed his 18th season with the A's and 22nd year in the American League. Only legendary sportscaster Bill King has spent more years doing radio play-by-play for the Green and Gold.
