OAKLAND -– A’s first baseman Ike Davis left Monday’s game against Boston in the bottom of the fourth after straining his left quad.
Davis was not moving well on the bases as he ran out a double to right-center to lead off the inning. He could only advance to third on Brett Lawrie’s single to right. And with runners on the corners, Max Muncy entered to pinch-run for him.
Muncy stayed in and took over at first base in a game that the A’s led 3-2 in the fifth.
