Bo Porter is out as Astros manager. The team fired him on Monday.
Porter, 42, took over as Astros manager at the start of the 2013 season but is gone with 24 games left to play in 2014.
Bench coach Dave Trembley has also been let go.
In a release from the team, the Astros say the search for Porter's replacement will begin immediately. In in interim, Tom Lawless will act as manager for the rest of the season and Adam Everett will join the staff to replace Trembley.
Under Porter, the Astros compiled a 110-190 record, but have been considerably better in 2014.
