The Oakland A's will be represented by their pitching and catching duo of Sonny Gray and Stephen Vogt in the 2015 MLB All-Star Game.
Gray, 25, has been perhaps the biggest bright spot all season for the A's with his dominance on the mound. In 16 games started, Gray sports a 9-3 record with a 2.09 ERA.
Along with his minuscule ERA, Gray has also struck out 97 batters to 26 walks. The third-year right-hander will be making his first appearance in the All-Star Game.
After failing to get enough fan votes, journeyman Stephen Vogt, 30, will also be making his first All-Star Game.
Vogt has enjoyed a career-year with the A's behind the dish while also playing at first base too. In 80 games played, Vogt is hitting .290/.380/.882 with 13 home runs, 53 RBI, 39 runs scored, 75 hits, and 12 doubles.
Already this season, Vogt has celebrated career highs in plate appearances, home runs, RBI, runs scored, doubles and walks. He's also tied his personal bests in hits and triples, and will soon beat his high of 84 games played from last season.
Extremely thankful for being selected to this years ASG. This is one of those feelings you dream about. Thank everyone for the support!
