A’s outfielder Craig Gentry left Tuesday’s game and was diagnosed with a concussion after a collision at first base in the fifth inning.
Gentry laid down a bunt single, and with White Sox second baseman Carlos Sanchez covering first, the flip from pitcher John Danks pulled Sanchez off the bag, and the right side of Gentry’s face appeared to collide hard with Sanchez’s shoulder.
Gentry went down and stayed down for a few minutes while being tended to by trainers. He walked off the field under his own power. It wasn’t immediately known how much time he might miss.
