Jerry Blevins spent the first seven years of his MLB career playing for the Oakland A's, but he spent last year in the Washington Nationals bullpen alongside Tyler Clippard.
The A's acquired Clippard on Thursday in exchange for infielder Yunel Escobar, and Blevins took to Twitter with a message to his old fans in Oakland.
All you A's fans will love @TylerClippard. You are getting a great pitcher and a better person.— Jerry Blevins (@JerryBlevins_13) January 15, 2015
Clippard, 29, went 7-4 with a 2.18 ERA over 75 games for Washington last season.
Blevins, 31, went 2-3 with a 4.87 ERA over 64 appearances for the Nationals last year.
