The Oakland A's endured one of their worst losses in franchise history on Sunday, but Sean Doolittle's rehab performance was a big bright spot for the day.
Doolittle, an All-Star in 2014, threw one scoreless inning for the A's Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds.
For Doolittle, the inning was flawless. The lefty faced three batters and shut them down with three strikeouts.
In 2015, Doolittle has only pitched in one game due to injury. Doolittle has now thrown in nine games in the minors this season where he has thrown nine innings and struck out 12 batters.
But, he's also allowed six earned runs in those nine innings for a 6.00 ERA, yet only a 3.60 ERA at Triple-A with recent success.
For his career with the A's, Doolittle is 9-10 with a 2.95 ERA and has 25 saves.
8 months ago I watched Sean get a PRP injection into his injured shoulder. Tonight he just K'ed the side. Proud doesn't begin to describe it
