UPDATE (5:30 pm PDT on Monday): Designated hitter Billy Butler has been placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list, the team officially announced.
Infielder Arismendy Alcantara has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville to take Butler's spot on the roster.
A day after word leaked that A's teammates Billy Butler and Danny Valencia were involved in an altercation in the clubhouse in Chicago on Friday, the fallout is now known.
Speaking with the media in Oakland Monday afternoon, A's GM David Forst said that Billy Butler is likely to go on the 7-day concussion disabled list. Butler was reportedly hit in the head by Valencia during the incident on Friday.
Both Butler and Valencia have been find for their involvement, Forst said.
Butler's locker, which used to be near Valencia's, has been moved to another part of the A's clubhouse.
Out of the lineup on Monday, Valencia is expected to be back in the lineup Tuesday, A's manager Bob Melvin told reporters Monday afternoon.
Forst says Valencia and Butler both been fined and that issue is done. So sounds like no suspensions.— Joe Stiglich (@JoeStiglichCSN) August 22, 2016
