Win-Win still on the market

Could the Sharks be passing up on a "win-win" situation?Okay, that's just a catchy play on names, but the truth is this: Brad Winchester and Daniel Winink have been on the unrestricted free agent market for 13 days, and are still available.Based on my observations from last year, both players certainly fit the more aggressive style and tempo of game that San Jose is looking for in the upcoming season. Here's a few tidbits about this situation:- With the technical exception of Brad Stuart, the Sharks have not re-signed any of their own NHL-level Unrestricted Free Agents from last season. No doubt, the front office is operating on the theme of 'change' this summer, and maybe the quantity of fresh faces is part of that.- Doug Wilson said well in advance of July 1st, that he might negotiate with some of his own UFA's, but only after the free-agent window opened.Winchester and Winnik might be examples of that.- Wilson, on a July 1st conference call stated it was "fair to say" his franchise had moved on from Daniel Winnik. However I didn't get the impression the door was completely closed.Winnik in the last few weeks, has also been consumed as one of the 31 players on an NHLPA panel working towards a labor solution.- The "big" fireworks in this summer already went off on July 4th, as Suter and Parise each signed identical contracts with the Minnesota Wild.Still, there are a lot of important depth players to be had on the free agent market. That being said, the clock is always ticking, and in another 2 weeks time, many teams will have the better part of their rosters squared away. So, what do you think? Should the Sharks bring back Winnik, Winchester, or both?Log in and add your comments below.
