SANTA CLARA – Running back Reggie Bush has not practiced since sustaining a calf strain in the 49ers’ season opener, but coach Jim Tomsula on Friday was not ready to rule him out of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
“Reggie Bush is looking good,” Tomsula said. “We’ll see where it is today.”
Bush will go through warmup drills on Friday with the 49ers’ athletic training staff before a determination is made whether to practice Friday, he said. Tomsula said he expects players to be able to practice in the days leading up to a game.

Wide receiver Bruce Ellington (ankle) and tight end Vance McDonald (knee) have taken part in limited work this week. Both players will likely be listed as questionable entering Sunday’s game.
Ellington sat out last week’s game at Pittsburgh, while McDonald sustained a knee contusion in the first half of the 49ers’ 43-18 loss.
