Guard Alex Boone will report to the 49ers on Monday, ending a contract holdout that began during the offseason program and throughout training camp, according to a source.

Ultimately, Boone and his representatives, agents Jonathan Feinsod and Neil Schwartz, were successful in leveraging the 49ers into a new deal. It is not known whether Boone will immediately move into the starting lineup at right guard to replace Joe Looney, who has been working with the first-team offense in Boone's absence.
Boone will still have two years remaining on his contract. As long as Boone was the starter, he was scheduled to make $5.75 million over the next two seasons, including incentives. He will now make $6 million, according to a source. Essentially, the 49ers rolled his next two years of incentives into base salaries. He earned all of his incentives the past two years after moving into the starting lineup.
As part of the agreement, the 49ers can not place the franchise tag on Boone at the end of the conclusion of the contract.
The sides had gone more than a month without negotiating, a source said. But the 49ers, led by president Paraag Marathe, and Boone's agents quickly got together on a new contract after the 49ers made their initial cuts Saturday on their 53-man roster.
