The 49ers are expected to meet this week with Carolina Panthers free agent guard Amini Silatolu, according to a source.
Silatolu, 27, has appeared in 34 games with 28 starts in his injury-plagued four-year career. He started 15 games as a rookie for the Panthers at left guard in 2012 after being selected in the second round.
He has reportedly made visits to the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers would like to meet with Silatolu and have him take a physical to get an update on his physical condition, the source told CSNBayArea.com.
Silatolu (6 foot 4, 320 pounds) appeared in nine games with three starts before tearing the ACL in his left knee in November. He sustained a torn right ACL in 2013 in his third game. In 2014, calf and knee injuries limited him to seven starts.
Born in Redwood City, Silatolu attended West High in Tracy. He attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton before transferring to Midwestern State, a Division II school in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The 49ers signed former Jacksonville guard Zane Beadles to a three-year, $9.75 million free-agent contract last month.
