Apologizing for his domestic violence incident, and thanking the Ravens, Ray Rice issued a statement Friday to the Baltimore Sun.
This weekend will mark the one-year anniversary of Rice’s arrest that led to his release from the Ravens and indefinite suspension from the NFL. Rice was reinstated to the NFL in November by former federal judge Barbara S. Jones, but no team has signed Rice, though he would like to resume his career.
Here is Rice’s statement to the Sun:
This is not a farewell or goodbye. The last seven years that my family and I have spent in Baltimore have by far been the best of our lives. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown my family and I throughout my football career.
