The Rams have signed defensive end Robert Quinn to a six-year, $65.6 million contract, according to reports.
Turns out Robert Quinn’s extension is actually a new 6-year deal worth $65.6M total. Means new money is $14.2M per year (vs Watt’s $16.6M)— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 13, 2014
The deal includes $41.2 million in guaranteed money and will keep Quinn in the NFC West until 2021.
Over the last four seasons, Quinn ranks third in the NFL in sacks among defensive lineman, and second for a 4-3 defensive end only behind four-time first-team All-Pro Jared Allen.
Quinn was drafted No. 14 overall out of North Carolina in 2011, in a first round that featured Texas A&M's Von Miller, Mizzou's Aldon Smith and Wisconsin's J.J. Watt.
He has accrued 34.5 sacks in 48 games played.
