Former 49ers running back LaMichael James signed with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday afternoon, according to his agent.

The 49ers released James on Sept. 8, the day after the team's Week 1 win over the Cowboys.
That day, James' agent thanked the franchise for granting LaMichael's release request.
However, two days later, 49ers GM Trent Baalke contradicted that narrative.
"We just made a decision it was time to move on,” Baalke said on 95.7 The Game. “It had nothing to do with any request LaMichael made.
"Where that’s coming from, I don’t know."
On Sept. 17, James visited with Miami but left without signing a contract.
