Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Josh Morgan accidentally shot himself with his own gun, TMZ reported.
According to the report, Morgan claims he was “cleaning his gun” when the weapon was discharged accidentally. He sustained non-critical injuries which didn’t require hospitalization.
Police officers in Virginia responded to reports of a self-inflicted gunshot would around 9 p.m. on Jan. 31, according to the report.
Morgan, currently a free agent, was drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and played for them through the 2011 season.
