Ray McDonald was absolved of any wrong-doing in his pending domestic assault case when the Santa Clara DA on Monday ruled that no charges will be filed to a lack of evidence.

The 49ers defensive lineman released the following statement hours after the decision was made:
"I appreciate the seriousness of the situation and I understand and respect that law enforcement had a job to do, which is why I cooperated fully with their investigation from beginning to end. I am relieved that the DA's office has rightfully decided not to file charges. I want to thank everyone who was supportive during this difficult time."
McDonald, 30, has started all nine games this year and has 15 tackles. After 11.5 sacks over the past three seasons, McDonald is yet to get to the quarterback this season.
