Joe Montana had a starring role in a new TV commercial featuring three other college football legends in Doug Flutie, Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker, and had a chance to show them what kind of hardware really matters.
Flutie played for Boston College from 1981 to 1984, and for his storied efforts as a senior -- most notably the Hail Mary victory pass in a shootout against the Miami Hurricanes -- won the Heisman Trophy.
Jackson's tenure at Auburn lasted from 1982 to 1985. With a 1,786-yard, 17-touchdown performance in 1985, the two-sport athlete and superstar running back took home the Heisman Trophy.
Walker played three seasons for Georgia from 1980 to 1982, and with 1,752 yards on the ground and 16 rushing touchdowns, the three-time All-American won the Heisman Trophy.
Montana never won the Heisman at Notre Dame, but he did lead the Fighting Irish to a National Championship in 1977 over No. 1-ranked Texas.
The quarterback then went on to be drafted in the third round by the San Francisco 49ers, and would lead them to four Super Bowl titles.
Montana still has the hardware to prove it.
