Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers’ other two quarterbacks, rookies, first-year players and injured players are scheduled to report to training camp on Monday.
Under guidelines in the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, quarterbacks can be required to report, along with the rookies, up to seven days ahead of the full squad.
The first day of activity at the team’s camp in Santa Clara will consist mostly of physical examinations, meetings and classroom work. No on-field sessions are allowed to take place on the first day of camp, other than running and conditioning.
The practices later this week consisting of those players will not be open to the public or media.
The full squad is scheduled to report to camp on Friday. The first full-squad practice is scheduled to take place Saturday evening at Levi’s Stadium immediately following the 41st annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star high school football game.
The 49ers' first full-squad padded practice is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4. at 4:15 p.m. The 49ers' first eight practices of training camp are scheduled to be inside Levi's Stadium, as coach Jim Tomsula apparently wants his players to get more familiar with the stadium. The 49ers were 4-4 at Levi's Stadium in the team's first season after moving from Candlestick Park.
After five full-squad practices, the 49ers' first day off during training camp is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6.
The 49ers’ first exhibition game is Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Houston Texans.
During training camp, first-year players are paid a weekly "per diem" of $1,000. All players with previous NFL experience are paid $1,800 a week before the season begins.
