Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is in Colorado for his final checkup before the start of training camp, according to sources.
Kaepernick underwent surgeries on his left shoulder, right thumb and left knee at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Dr. Peter Millett performed Kaepernick’s surgeries. He is expected to practice without any limitations during training camp.
The 49ers are scheduled to report to training camp on Saturday in Santa Clara. The first practice is scheduled for Sunday.
After reporting to the 49ers’ offseason program on April 4, Kaepernick conducted most of his rehabilitation at the team’s training facility.

Kaepernick received clearance from the 49ers’ medical staff to participate in 7-on-7 drills during the team’s mandatory minicamp, June 7-9.
He was noticeably thin during the offseason due to his inability to proceed with his normal offseason weight training as he rehabbed from his surgeries.
“My health is doing well,” Kaepernick said on June 9. “I’m happy to get back out on the field this week. Everything’s coming along, progressing as planned. At this point I can really get rolling. And I’m excited to get back on the field, get healthy and be ready for this training camp.”
Kaepernick said he was looking forward to gaining weight and competing against Blaine Gabbert from the start of training camp.
“(I’m) ready to compete, ready to give this team everything I have,” Kaepernick said.
