OWINGS MILLS –- Ravens coach John Harbaugh jumped on the opportunity Wednesday to support his brother, University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.
Some prominent college coaches, including Nick Saban of Alabama and Dan Mullen of Mississippi St., have criticized Harbaugh for holding 11 satellite football camps this spring in seven states. Saban and Mullen view the camps as a recruiting advantage for the University of Michigan.
However, Harbaugh has defended his right to bring quality camps to high school players. Now the Ravens’ coach is defending his brother.
“My thoughts on my brother’s camps across the country?,” said Harbaugh, repeating a question asked after Ravens’ practice on Wednesday. “I like that question. I think he’s spot on. I think he’s right on. It’s America, isn’t that what he said today? In our America, we’re allowed to cross state lines.
