NEW ORLEANS -- The 49ers lost two starters to injuries that could have an impact in future weeks.
Pro Bowl left guard Mike Iupati's left knee was in a brace as he left the 49ers locker room on crutches after the team's 23-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
And cornerback Tarell Brown was in obvious discomfort – and appeared to have difficulty breathing -- after the game with a ribs injury that knocked him from the game in the second quarter.
Coach Jim Harbaugh said he had no official updates on the conditions of Iupati and Brown.
Veteran Adam Snyder entered the game in the third quarter when Iupati was injured on a running play when Frank Gore rolled onto his leg while being tackled by Saints nose tackle Brodrick Bunkley.
Brown was injured late in the second quarter while he made a tackle of New Orleans running back Pierre Thomas at the goal line. While Brown was making the tackle he appeared to sustain the injury from a knee of a Saints player.
Tramaine Brock replaced Brown at cornerback. Then, Eric Wright entered when the 49ers went to three cornerbacks. Wright, a seven-year NFL veteran, made his 49ers debut. The team released Perrish Cox last week to open the door for Wright to get playing time. Wright made three tackles.
