SANTA CLARA -- Although it seems unlike that Michael Crabtree will make his season debut Monday night, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh did not rule out that possibility before the team boarded its flight to Washington on Saturday.
“I would look at that as a decision over the next 48 hours,” Harbaugh said.
Crabtree remains on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform-list as he’s been eased back into practices on his surgically repaired right Achilles tendon. Although Crabtree practiced this week, it is not believed he took part only in limited drills.
The 49ers must activate Crabtree to the 53-man roster by the end of the day Tuesday to keep him eligible to play this season. He would have to be elevated to the 53-man roster before 1 p.m. Monday in order to play against Washington.
Meanwhile, the 49ers officially ruled out Tarell Brown (ribs) and guard Mike Iupati (knee) from playing in Monday’s game. Tramaine Brock, who signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension on Friday, will start in place of Brown. Veteran Adam Snyder gets his first start of the season in place of Iupati, who is expected to miss at least two games with a knee sprain.
