Throughout his four years as the head coach of the 49ers, Jim Harbaugh repeatedly praised Frank Gore.
Two days after Harbaugh was introduced as Michigan's head football coach on Dec. 30, he rejoined Twitter.
On Tuesday, Harbaugh published his 46th tweet since opening his new account:
Thought of the day - As my esteemed associate and Friend The Great Frank Gore has taught me & tells me "These haters can't hold me back"— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) February 10, 2015
Who are the haters and why are they trying to hold Harbaugh back?
That's up for interpretation.
But it could have to do with a recent tweet from Harbaugh (and the subsequent response from Ohio State director of player personnel Mark Pantoni) that may or may not have been a jab at the Buckeyes.
Meanwhile, Gore, who turns 32 in May, is scheduled to become a free agent for the first time in his 10-year NFL career (all with the 49ers).
He earned $6.45 million both of the past two seasons, but will probably have to accept less money to return to the 49ers in 2015.
