Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase is scheduled to interview for the 49ers’ head-coaching vacancy on Friday.
But the 49ers are not alone. The Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears are also set to meet with him about their respective openings on Friday and Saturday as the Broncos have a bye week in the AFC playoffs.
"It's a great opportunity to be able to do this, and for these guys to reach out and want to talk to me," Gase told Denver-area reporters on Wednesday. "I'm excited about it, but I'm also excited about the fact that we (the Broncos) have another chance to make a run. We have a good team. Last year we fell short, and this is another opportunity for us to try to get one.

"I felt like it was the right choice for me to do this this weekend. And once that's over, we'll move on to whoever we end up playing."
In two seasons as coordinator, Gase has worked well with quarterback Peyton Manning. The Broncos ranked No. 1 in scoring last season, and they rank second in the NFL this season.
"I don't think you need me to sit up here and campaign for him," Manning said. "Last year I talked to a couple teams on behalf of him that reached out to me, and that may happen again, so I'm certainly glad to share my thoughts. I think it's pretty well-documented my thoughts on him.
"But I'm excited that he has the opportunity that he's going to have this weekend. He deserves it. I think the teams that he talks to will be impressed."
