SAN FRANCISCO – Phil Dawson does not want to hear a thing about any record.
But Dawson, in his first season with the 49ers, has placed himself in the team record book with 20 consecutive made field goals.

Dawson was perfect on his four field-goal attempts on Sunday, and the 49ers needed every one of them. His 22-yarder with :26 remaining provided the 49ers with the winning points in a 19-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Candlestick Park.
Dawson made kicks from 23, 48 and 52 yards before hitting the game-winner.
“I try not to think about it,” Dawson said of his streak. “I try to treat every kick the same. You have to have a bad memory. Unfortunately, I have a really good memory, so I can remember my last miss.”
Dawson’s last miss was memorable, all right. He misfired on a 71-yard attempt on a rare fair catch kick just before halftime of the 49ers’ game Sept. 26 against the St. Louis Rams. Dawson, a 15-year pro who spent his first 14 seasons with the Cleveland Browns, is 23 of 26 on the season after the 49ers signed him to replace David Akers.

Dawson also holds the Browns record for most consecutive made field goals at 27. Dawson, Olindo Mare (Miami/Seattle) and Neil Rackers (Arizona/Houston) are the only kickers who currently hold records for most made field goals with two different franchises.
Joe Nedney previously held the 49ers record with 18 made field goals in a row from November 2006 to September 2007.
