SANTA CLARA – Tight end Vernon Davis and right tackle Anthony Davis did not experience injuries expected to keep them out for long periods of time, but neither 49ers starter was on the practice field Wednesday afternoon.
Vernon Davis said he is experiencing some back spasms but listed his availability as “day to day.”
Anthony Davis’ availability for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs is also in question due to a knee injury.
Anthony Davis left Levi’s Stadium after the team’s victory Sunday over the Philadelphia Eagles with the help of a crutch.
On Wednesday, he was not wearing a brace on his left knee and he had no noticeable limp as he walked through the locker room.
Meanwhile, cornerback Tramaine Brock is likely out for another week, but he began on-field rehabilitation with the 49ers strength and conditioning staff.
Brock has been out of action since sustaining a sprained big toe on his right foot in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 7.
Defensive lineman Justin Smith took his usual day off on Wednesday. And defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie wore a blue no-contact jersey at practice.
The 49ers’ official participation report will be released at approximately 4:45 p.m., when the team concludes practice.
