Running back Frank Gore had a tremendous outing in the 49ers' Week 5 victory over the visiting Chiefs, even scaring the wits out of Kansas City defenders at times.
Chiefs rookie linebacker Dee Ford, a first-round pick out of Auburn University, wanted nothing to do with the veteran tailback on one particular run.
What in the world, #55? In fairness though, I might do the same thing if Frank Gore was running right at me https://t.co/TCzUb0IwdQ— Chris B. Brown (@smartfootball) October 6, 2014
Ford, No. 55, reads the off-tackle run and backpedals away from the action, giving Gore one less defender to deal with.
It was a moment to forget for the former BCS National Champion defensive end.
Gore finished with 18 carries for 107 yards, moving him past running back Ottis Anderson with the 26th-most rushing yards in NFL history.
Sunday marked Gore's 37th career game with 100 or more rushing yards, which ranks second-most among all active players.
After his Week 5 performance, Gore is fifth in rushing in the NFL with 365 yards on the ground.
