The Kansas City Chiefs on Monday were awarded former 49ers guard Jordan Devey off waivers.
The 49ers waived Devey on Friday to create roster space of the team's incoming class of rookies.
None of the other players the 49ers waived -- kicker Corey Acosta, quarterback Dylan Thompson and running back Kendall Gaskins -- were claimed off waivers.
Devey came to the 49ers in a trade for tight end Asante Cleveland on Aug. 18. He was named the surprise starter at right guard for the 49ers' season opener. He started the first nine game of the season before Andrew Tiller replaced him in the lineup.
Devey, 28, appeared in seven games with four starts for the Patriots in 2014.
